Putrajaya is a planned town, located south of Kuala Lumpur, that serves as the Fed. executive centre of Malaysia. The seat of regime was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur thanks to the overcrowding and congestion there. Nonetheless , Kuala Lumpur remains as Malaysia's nationwide capital ( as the seat of Parliament ) as well as the states's commercial and money centre. Putrajaya was the idea of previous P. M. In 2001, Putrajaya was made a Fed. Territory, increasing the quantity of Fed. territories to 3. Kuala Lumpur and Labuan are the other 2. Named after the 1st Malaysian PM, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra the town is situated in the Multimedia Super Corridor, beside the also newly developed Cyberjaya. The development started in 1995 and today major landmarks are completed and the population is anticipated to grow in the comparatively new town.
